Here we are just leaving the farm around 11 AM
As you can see from the sign, we're now halfway to Hana! Almost to the start of the trail!
There it is looking very mighty and powerful, Haleakala!
At this point, we were around 2/5 of the way to get to the first campsite! And it was getting dark!
The next day, we woke to a very cold realization... When you are 7,000 ft above sea level, it gets 7,000 degrees colder!!!
Morning sunrise as I look at the sun make it over the mountains and clouds moving so so fast
You could say, we were in the clouds
As we set to make it to the summit... 10,000 ft above sea level
One of the trailheads
At almost 9,000 ft above sea level and standing over a volcano, things look very desert-like
Those hills up ahead were some of the steepest parts of our hike!
WE MADE IT! This is Nelson and me making it to the summit! Jay was still pretty far behind.
I live in the stars. These telescopes can show you my home and my friends.
Here we are at a measly 10,000 ft above sea level
Clouds to my left, right, front, and back
On the way back down, we got a ride from German tourists.
At times on the ride back into town, I would slouch down (to not see the grass and ground) and make believe I was on a plane
These are our German tourist friends! :)
The end!
